Buddy-up over boardgames!

Come along to our casual get-together at Guild on Friday 23rd June from 6pm, where you can befriend and challenge fellow delegates and committee members to a board game, or several (there are hundreds to choose from!). It is pay-your-own way, so main meals, entrées and desserts are available for purchase as well as beer, cocktails, and hot drinks. Students can bring along their student cards to enjoy 10% off! Guild is located on the lower ground of Bailey’s Arcade, 150 London Circuit in Canberra’s city centre. It is a 10-minute drive, or 14-minute bus ride from the National Library of Australia.

Come along to our librarian-themed film night at the iconic Arc Cinema in the National Film and Sound Archive to watch one of our finest librarian heroes on the silver screen in this classic film.

Mingle with your fellow delegates and NLS8 committee members over canapés offered from 6pm. Then grab your complimentary popcorn and choc top in time for the film screening, which begins at 7pm and finishes at approximately 9pm.

The archive is located at McCoy Circuit, Acton, approximately an 8-minute drive, 20 minutes bus ride or 30 minutes walk from the National Library of Australia. Conveniently, this places the archive a stone’s throw away from the bustling hub of New Acton where there are plenty of bars and restaurants open until midnight.

Closing night soiree!

Join the NLS8 committee on Sunday 25th June from 6pm for a post-symposium dinner and drinks at Cisco’s Restaurante Mexicano. We have several tables booked inside where we will be celebrating having completed what will be a fantastic symposium – and we want to see you there celebrating with us! It is pay-your-own-way, so Mexican entrées, mains and desserts are available for purchase, as well as cocktails, sangria and hot drinks. Cisco’s is located within the bustling hub of Kingston Foreshore, on 35 Kennedy St. It is an 8-minute drive, 14-minute bus ride or 30 minute walk from the National Library of Australia.
